🌿 Palak Paneer – A Healthy & Delicious Indian Classic

Palak Paneer is one of the most loved vegetarian dishes in India. Packed with the goodness of iron-rich spinach and the protein of paneer (cottage cheese), this dish is both nutritious and comforting.


🥘 Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh spinach (palak) leaves, washed

  • 200 g paneer (cubed)

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 tomatoes, chopped

  • 1 green chili

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp red chili powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • ½ tsp garam masala

  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh cream (optional, for garnish)


🍳 Method

  1. Blanch Spinach – Boil spinach leaves for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to cold water. Blend into a smooth puree.

  2. Cook Base – Heat oil/ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds, onions, and sauté until golden.

  3. Add Masala – Add ginger-garlic paste, tomatoes, turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, and cook till oil separates.

  4. Mix Spinach – Add the spinach puree and cook for 4–5 minutes.

  5. Add Paneer – Gently add paneer cubes and simmer for 3–4 minutes.

  6. Finish – Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with cream if desired.


🍴 Serving Suggestions

Palak Paneer pairs best with naan, roti, or steamed basmati rice.


Healthy Tip: Use less cream and more spinach for a lighter version, or swap paneer with tofu for a vegan twist!
